Situation report

Overview

  • This summary is based on data submitted by the following countries: Brunei Darussalam; China; China, Hong Kong SAR; Indonesia; Japan; Lao PDR; Malaysia; Mongolia; Philippines; Republic of Korea; Singapore; and Viet Nam in the Northern Hemisphere, and Australia, New Caledonia, and Papua New Guinea in the Southern Hemisphere. These countries contributed influenza and SARS‑CoV‑2 data; however, Cambodia and Malaysia did not provide SARS‑CoV‑2 data during this reporting period.
  • In week 11, 2026 regional influenza and SARS CoV-2 positivity were 8% and below 2% respectively (Figure 1).
  • The predominant circulating influenza subtype is influenza B(Victoria) (72% of all detections) (Figure 2).
  • Influenza activity has decreased in most northern and southern hemisphere countries and areas, except Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Mongolia.
